…for the people, by the people …. Part 2

…some may not have ready my blog – Part 1 and I certainly did not think there would be a Part 2…  I guess I live in the hope of seeing the world through the “rose tinted” glasses and not the “smoke and mirrors” that our “citizen” legislature expects you and me to buy!!!!!

HB2 – have they (aka – “citizen legislature”) started to read and decipher what this bill is all about?  I think they may have finally read this extensive bill (all 4 -1/2 pages) of it and realized they may have a can of worms.  A “can of worms” that continue to slither out of these pages and in spite of the Governor trying to “interpret” the intent of the bill/law/legislation – ALL of that should have been done prior to it ever reaching the floors of the legislature, explaining now is just too late.  I think I expressed in Part 1 that once a piece of legislation becomes “law”, it will take “an act of Congress” or a “lawsuit” to reverse it.  I still “stand firm” on my point  – had this been thoroughly examined prior to the “rush to vote” and there had been ANY transparency, we, the citizens of North Carolina would not be subjected to the embarrassment of our elected officials.

Again, I question how any one who reads my words could behave like this in their private workplace and get away with moving forward with such ill conceived ideas that have such significant consequences – at so many levels.  I also remain quite adamant that when I vote for someone, I am giving them a “proxy” to represent my best interest.  HB2 is not in my best interest – whether it is about going to a bathroom or my rights to file a lawsuit in a state court over a federal court.

So, when you question the value of the North Carolina legislature, just ponder and wonder how much it has cost YOU in funding the 2nd session of the General Assembly and now where will the funds come to navigate through this forest of a lawsuit.  Sure makes me question how we, the citizens of North Carolina and the United States of America have allowed ourselves to become so complacent in our voices to those who have the privilege of our proxies.

If you need something to clear your mind, here is the ratified law:  HB2
